Product Description

Mineral Fiber: High Aluminum and low Silicon Engineering Mineral Fiber.

Chemical Name: Synthetic Vitreous (silicon acid Salt) Fiber (CAS-No.: RN 287922-11-6).

This fiber is manufactured from basalt and blast furnace slag. It offers a low-cost, stable friction solution and serves as an excellent substitute for asbestos fiber. Utilizing advanced technology and specialized automatic production lines, our fiber products ensure superior dispersion, making them suitable for all types of mixing equipment. Brake pads made with this fiber feature a uniform appearance without visible fiber particles and minimal slag ball content, resulting in low noise during operation.

Chemical Composition

SiO2 Al2O3 Fe2O3 CaO+MgO Na2O+K2O

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What are the primary raw materials for this Mineral Fiber? The fiber is primarily made of basalt and blast furnace slag, providing high aluminum and low silicon content.
Q2: Can this mineral fiber replace asbestos in brake pads? Yes, it is specifically designed as a high-performance, cost-effective substitute for asbestos with 0% asbestos content.
Q3: What is the maximum temperature the fiber can withstand? The highest working temperature is 800℃, with a softening point exceeding 1550℃.
Q4: What is the recommended dosage for different braking systems? For brake drums, a dosage of 15-35% is recommended; for brake discs, the recommendation is 8-25%.
Q5: How is the product typically packaged for transport? It is typically packed in 25kg 3-ply sacks, stacked on wooden pallets, then strapped and shrink-wrapped for protection.
Q6: Does the fiber cause noise in brake applications? No, because of the specialized equipment used to remove slag balls, the low slag content helps ensure minimal brake noise.
