The Carry-On Trailer Breakaway Switch adds safety while towing by applying the brakes to your trailer if it disconnects from your vehicle.

Dual role of trailer separation system:

First, if the trailer is completely disconnected from the tractor, the separation cable will pull the pin from the separation switch and automatically connect the 12V storage in the box to the electromagnetic brake on the trailer, enabling emergency braking of the trailer. This prevents additional damage caused by the trailer continuing along the road after it is disconnected from the tractor.

Secondly, if the trailer is detached from the hook device but remains connected to the tractor through the safety chain, the separation cable will also pull out the pin, applying the emergency electric brake to prevent vehicle damage. The critical point is to ensure the slack of the disconnected cable is less than the slack of the safety chain.
